Author | LUDWIG WITTGENSTEIN |
As some interprets have pointed out, it is in the Notes for the Lectures on Private Experiencee and Sense Data (1934-1936) that the so-called « private language argument » first appeared. And, in stating the impossibility of a language understandable only by its speaker, Wittgenstein realizes that we cannot put seeing on one side and speaking on the other ; and he undertakes to redefine the very notion of language games that he has introduced in the beginning of the thirties. |
